Betafied recreates Java Beta 1.7.3 mechanics and terrain in Minecraft Bedrock. The addon is intended to be played using the ready-to-play Bundled Addon & World (.mctemplate) featuring 10,000 × 10,000 authentic Beta terrain. Update files are provided for players updating an existing Betafied world.

Warning • For Updating Existing Betafied Worlds Only

Download update files only if you are updating an existing Betafied world you previously created. The update files are NOT intended for creating new worlds from scratch, and MUST NOT be used on existing vanilla worlds. Applying these packs to existing worlds will break your worlds and cause issues. To start a new world, always download the MCTemplate (Bundled Addon & World) above.

Installation Guide

Select your platform below for step-by-step setup instructions. For new worlds, download and open the .mctemplate file for instant play. If updating an existing Betafied world, import the .mcaddon update file and update the packs in your world settings.

1. Starting Fresh (Recommended • Intended Experience)

  1. Download the Betafied.mctemplate (Bundled Addon & World) file above.
  2. Double-click the downloaded .mctemplate file. Minecraft will launch automatically and import the world template.
  3. Click Play → Create New → Betafied Template to start your world with 10k × 10k authentic Beta terrain and packs pre-configured!

2. Updating an Existing Betafied World

  1. Download the Update Addon (.mcaddon) from the update files section.
  2. Double-click the .mcaddon file to import the updated Behavior and Resource Packs.
  3. Edit your existing Betafied world in Minecraft, navigate to Behavior Packs and Resource Packs, and update both to the new version.
  4. Warning: Do NOT apply update packs to existing vanilla worlds or create new worlds with the pack; it will break your worlds.

  2. Open your Downloads folder, tap the .mctemplate file, and choose Open with Minecraft.
  3. Minecraft will launch and import the template. Create a new world from the Betafied template to explore 10k × 10k classic Beta terrain.

2. Updating an Existing Betafied World

  1. Download the Update Addon (.mcaddon) file.
  2. Open it with Minecraft to import the updated packs.
  3. Go to your existing Betafied world settings and update both Behavior and Resource pack versions.
  4. Warning: Do NOT apply update packs to existing vanilla worlds or create new worlds with the pack; it will break your worlds.

  2. Tap the download icon in Safari, select the file to open it in the Files app, then tap or share to Minecraft.
  3. Minecraft will launch and automatically install the template. Create a world from the template to play on 10k × 10k authentic Beta terrain.

2. Updating an Existing Betafied World

  1. Download the Update Addon (.mcaddon) file and open it in Minecraft.
  2. Open your existing Betafied world settings and update both Behavior and Resource packs.
  3. Warning: Do NOT apply update packs to existing vanilla worlds or create new worlds with the pack; it will break your worlds.
  1. For the intended experience with pre-generated 10k × 10k Beta terrain, create a local world using the .mctemplate in your Bedrock client, verify experimental toggles, and transfer the world folder to your BDS worlds/ directory.
  2. To update an existing dedicated server, extract the update .mcaddon (or separate BP and RP .mcpack files) into the server's behavior_packs/ and resource_packs/ folders.
  3. Update the pack version UUIDs in world_behavior_packs.json and world_resource_packs.json.
  4. Ensure Beta APIs and Upcoming Creator Features remain active on the world.
  5. Restart BDS. Connecting players receive updated textures and sounds automatically upon joining!
